We left to eat and came back two hours later which would then be after the regular singles (non groups) Airboarding time, to find both our rentals gone and that all of the workers on duty had changed. It was the managers suggestion that we turn in the rentals and just pick them up when we came back (as we had already paid to use them all day).
We have quickly realized that we are some of the few African Americans at the resort and in order to ensure no one there got the wrong ideas of leaving( and still having their equipment) we went down to both the group sales desk and rental equipment office to let them know our intentions of going to eat and coming back in a couple hours. We didn’t want the food offered there slopside so decide to try the restaurant down the road. After a few early morning hours of Airboarding my party and I grew hungry and decided to go eat. The next morning me and my family got up early went to the slopes and got our Airboarding equipment rentals. We got to the park later than expected on our arrival date so our group was only able to get a hour on the slopes before the park closed.
Now my group had six people, but in order to make the travel time and the experience worth the trip I my made my group reservation for 10 people to Airboard for two days with the Sales Manager Ben Robinson who after many phone and email conversations ensure me that by booking my group of ten my party would be allowed to airboard both days from when the park opens to close. When I found out that Montage Mountain offered Airboarding I quickly called to inquire, I would later find out that Airboarding is only allowed at specific times during the day unless you book for a group of 10 people or more. My family and I love Airboarding and have traveled both the United States and Europe to do it.
